Timothy Lambing and Mark Whiting with Mercer Health & Benefits of Kansas City, will educate attendees on the Affordable Care Act employer requirements and most notably, the differences in the various public and private exchanges available. Although many employers offer healthcare benefits, employees also have options of using exchanges for their primary or supplemental insurance. They may also qualify for the subsidies available through the exchange. Another topic covered in the presentation will be recent changes to the IRS rules that dictate what a qualifying event is when enrolling through the exchange.
